2. General Information on Data Processing
When visiting this website, personal data is processed insofar as this is necessary for the technical operation of the website and the provision of its functions or where another appropriate legal basis applies.
Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This may include, for example, names, email addresses, IP addresses or technical usage data.
Personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection legislation. The respective purposes and legal bases for processing are explained in the following sections.
3. Hosting and Server Log Files
This website is hosted by netcup GmbH, Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany.
When this website is accessed, the web server processes technically necessary data. This includes, in particular, the IP address, information about the requested content, the time of the request, HTTP status code, amount of data transferred, referrer, and information about the browser and operating system used.
This processing is carried out for the purpose of providing the website and ensuring the security and stability of the web server on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the secure and functional operation of this website.
Web hosting log files are generally stored by netcup for a maximum of 14 days. Longer storage may be necessary in particular where data is required to prevent or investigate an attack or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with netcup.
4. Encrypted Connection
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption. This ensures that data transmitted between the browser and the server is transmitted in encrypted form.
5. Cookies and Consent Management with Complianz
This website uses technically necessary storage technologies and, depending on the functions used and the visitor's choices, other technologies that require consent.
Complianz – GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent is used to manage consent. The consent banner allows visitors to choose which categories they consent to. The selected preferences are stored so that they can be taken into account during subsequent visits.
Where storing information on a user's device or accessing information already stored on the device is strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user, this is carried out on the basis of Section 25(2) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). Where consent is required, storage or access is carried out on the basis of Section 25(1) TDDDG. Any associated processing of personal data is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Consent that has been given can be changed or withdrawn at any time with effect for the future using the consent management function provided on this website.
Further information about the cookies and services used on this website can be found in the Cookie Policy (EU).
6. Visitor Statistics with WP Statistics
This website uses the WordPress plugin WP Statistics for statistical analysis of website usage.
Among other things, information about page views, pages visited, referrers, and information about the browser and device used is processed.
Visitors' IP addresses are anonymised and additionally processed using a non-reversible hash function. A salt that changes daily is used to identify unique visitors, preventing visitors from being recognised across different days.
In the configuration used on this website, WP Statistics does not use cookies, browser cache or Local Storage to recognise visitors. Statistical data is stored locally in the WordPress database on this website's server and is not transmitted to the provider of WP Statistics for analytics purposes.
The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the data-minimising statistical analysis of website usage and the technical and content-related improvement of the website.
The “Do Not Track” preference transmitted by the browser is respected.
7. Spam Protection with CleanTalk
This website uses CleanTalk to protect against spam, automated submissions and misuse. The provider is CleanTalk Inc., USA.
Where an input function protected by CleanTalk is used, the spam check may involve the processing and transmission to CleanTalk of information including the IP address, submitted data, the URL accessed and technical information. CleanTalk may also use technical and behavioural information for the purpose of detecting automated or abusive submissions.
The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in protecting this website against spam, automated submissions and misuse.
For CleanTalk, the storage of personal data on servers located in the European Union has been selected. The standard retention period for log data provided by the CleanTalk service is seven days; extended storage beyond this period has not been enabled. The storage of approved requests has been restricted so that, for requests classified as legitimate, in particular the name, email address and message content are not stored in the CleanTalk log. CleanTalk's own cookie-setting function and the additional CleanTalk pixel are disabled on this website.
CleanTalk Inc. is a company based in the United States and states that it is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Despite the selection of servers located within the European Union for data storage, processing by the provider in the United States cannot be completely excluded.
8. Links to Social Networks and External Platforms
This website contains links to external websites and platforms, such as YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn.
These services are not embedded on this website as external media, feeds or social media content. Merely visiting this website therefore does not establish a connection to the respective platforms as a result of these links.
Only when a visitor clicks such a link is the website of the respective provider accessed. The respective provider is generally responsible for the data processing that takes place there.
9. Locally Hosted Fonts
The web fonts used on this website are provided locally by this website's own web server. No connection to Google Fonts is established when loading the fonts, and no personal data is transmitted to Google for this purpose.
10. Contact
Contact is possible in particular by email or telephone. When contact is made, the personal data provided by the sender is processed insofar as this is necessary to handle the enquiry.
Where the enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. In other cases, processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in handling incoming enquiries and communicating with the respective senders.
Data provided in connection with an enquiry is deleted when it is no longer required for handling the enquiry and there are no statutory retention obligations or other legal grounds requiring continued storage.
11. Storage Period
Personal data is generally stored only for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose of processing.
Where statutory retention obligations apply or data is required for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, the data may be stored for a correspondingly longer period.
Where processing is based on consent, that consent may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.
12. Rights of Data Subjects
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, data subjects have, in particular, the following rights:
- the right of access to personal data being processed pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR,
- the right to rectification of inaccurate data or completion of incomplete data pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR,

- the right to data portability pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR,
- the right to object to certain processing pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR, and
- the right to withdraw consent with effect for the future pursuant to Art. 7(3) GDPR.
Where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, data subjects have the right, pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR, to object to the processing on grounds relating to their particular situation.
To exercise these rights, data subjects may contact the controller using the contact details provided under “Controller”.
13. Right to Lodge a Complaint with a Supervisory Authority
Pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority if they consider that the processing of their personal data infringes the GDPR.
The supervisory authority responsible for the controller is:
Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information
(Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit)
Alt-Moabit 59–61
10555 Berlin
Germany
